The Audio-Technica AT4050 is a multi pattern condenser making it diverse for live performance or live/studio recording. It’s another one of those mics that can get moved around on different instruments to see if it tickles your eardrums fancy. Although it has a smaller frequency range than most condensers in its class (20Hz -18kHz), it has a Max SPL of 159db with its pad applied making it suitable for on stage presence. Just thought you’d like to know that Kirk Hammett (Metallica) has the Audio-Technica AT4050 on his guitar amps. Just sayin’.
