SU-013M-B Overview
The Russian-made Soyuz microphones SU-013 is a small diaphragm condenser mic based on it's older brother the SU-011. The difference being is that the 013 is a FET so no power supply is needed for the tube as in the 011. This being a stereo pair it obviously comes with two 013's and a pair of -10dB pads for the cardioid capsules. The minute you hold this microphone in your hand you can tell it's built to last. Not only is the quality in the build noticed when first taking them out but you end up unpacking your ears when you hear the quality in the yes, frequency range (20Hz -20kHz) but also the actual response. It's natural for SDC's to capture low-mids to high-highs but the U013 has some low frequency capabilities that made us take off our headphones re-adjust our ears and listen again. Yeah, it's that good. So good in fact you could seriously use these for VO talent in the studio. I know right? Suggested uses include almost everything acoustic in the studio, on stage guitar amps, drum overheads, crowd mics and more.
