The Neumann U87Ai is another legendary Neumann large diaphragm condenser microphone. Voted by the readers of Sound on Sound magazine as THE BEST MICROPHONE the U87Ai is a multi pattern beast of a condenser that all other studio mics are measured against. It has a Max SPL of 127dB and a full range frequency response (20Hz-20kHz). Used in studios for orchestras, individual instrument miking , vocals and speech (voice over). These are the hardest mics to rent, but not anymore.
