C42 Overview
The Josephson Engineering C42 stands as a versatile cardioid condenser microphone designed to excel across various recording scenarios. Whether it's capturing acoustic instruments, drums, ensembles, choirs, concerts, sound effects, or vocals, the C42 delivers. Crafted from satin machined stainless steel, its durability ensures years of reliable use. Inside, its electronics boast a carefully selected discrete FET driving a fully balanced, symmetrical transformerless class-A output stage. With a low output impedance, the C42 supports extensive cable runs without compromising signal integrity. While it's optimized for full P48 phantom power, it remains functional with phantom power as low as 24 volts, albeit with some limitations on maximum SPL.
