2017 Shotgun Overview
The 2017 is a cousin of the DPA 4017 shotgun, the biggest difference being that is not a modular mic capsule. What you see is what you get but you get a lot of greatness. There are so many applications for the 2017; Live Sound (audience reactions), ENG, Film, just to name a few. The 2017 is more of a super cardioid from 20 Hz to 1kHz before taking the typical lobar shape of shotguns necessary for directionality. The 2017 is a little more than 2 inches shorter in its length compared to other shotguns in its price class. The 2017 boasts one of the highest SPL ratings we have seen on a shotgun at 148 dB peak. We think you'll love it.
Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé
We were super privileged to have 12 of the 2017’s deployed as ground AR capture mics for the filming of “Renaissance” at AT&T, NRG, SuperDome, and Arrowhead stadiums in support of audio director James Berry and recording / vocal effects engineer Tanner Kinney.
